Before performing this step, please read carefully and observe the following caution when using the following adhesive (Part No. E0AZ-19554-B;
Ford Specification No. ESE-M4G167-A2):
CAUTION! MAY IRRITATE SENSITIVE SKIN. CONTAINS METHACRYLIC ESTER. AVOID PROLONGED OR REPEATED
CONTACT WITH SKIN. IN CASE OF SKIN CONTACT, WASH THOROUGHLY WITH WATER. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF
CHILDREN.
6.
Apply one drop of the adhesive between the compensator body and the adjusting screw to secure the final adjustment.
7.
Reinstall the compensator to the vehicle using the two attaching screws previously removed in Step 1.
8.
Carefully reconnect the multiple connector to the compensator.
9.
Check and set fast and curb idle speeds to the specifications shown on the Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI decal). Follow the idle
speed setting procedures described on pages 4-15 and 4-16 of the 1982 Car/Truck Shop Manual - Engine/Emissions Diagnosis.
10.
Prepare an "Authorized Modifications" decal (Form FPS-8262, available on your stock-order pad) as shown below.
11.
Attach the "Authorized Modifications" decal to the rocker arm cover adjacent to the timing belt cover.
12.
Close the hood.

An initial supply of adhesive (Stud and Bearing Mount adhesive; Part Number E0AZ-19554-B), judged to be sufficient for your anticipated requirements
for this recall is provided at no charge to you at this time. Additional adhesive, if required, is available (package of 10) and may be ordered from your
Order Processing Center.
Labor
Adjust Altitude Compensator and Prepare Authorized Modifications Decal. . . . . . . . . . . .0.4 Hr. Insert in Box "B" of Form 1864
Administrative Allowance . . . . . . . . 0.1 Hr.
The 0.1 hour administrative allowance must be added before inserting the total labor time in the appropriate box of the Form 1864.

Reporting of Completions
Upon completion of the required service, return the second copy of the Form 1864 completely filled out and signed by authorized dealership personnel.
Only the Form 1864 will be accepted for reimbursement in this program. It is important that all claims be filed for all completed units so that our records
will show completion. Any problems encountered with this recall should be discussed with your FPSD Service Zone Manager.
