Some engine overheating concerns may be caused by loss of engine coolant at the heater coolant tube (E3FZ- 18B402-A). The coolant loss could be
caused by leaks around the welded joints at the mounting brackets on the heater coolant tube assembly. The current production tube is brazed around
these brackets to provide additional strength. If leaks are encountered in this area, replace the tube assembly.

The heater water outlet tube assembly is located under the engine oil pan, routed right to left. The tube is secured at the water pump inlet tube and at the
heater coolant return line (Figure 4). For replacement, refer to Section 27-01-9 of the Escort/Lynx, EXP/LN7 Powertrain Pre-Delivery Maintenance
Lubrication Manual.
