Choke Plate: Adjustments

    On these units, it is necessary to  remove the carburetor to remove the three  rivets retaining the choke housing cover.  Using a 1/8 inch or No. 30 drill
bit, remove  rivet head, then drive rivet out using a 1/8  inch diameter punch.
     Position fast idle adjusting screw on high step of fast idle cam. Using an external  vacuum source, apply 17 inches Hg of  vacuum to vacuum channel
adjacent to the  primary bore on the base of the carburetor.  The modulator spring should not be compressed. Using the specified drill, check  clearance
between choke plate and air  horn wall. If clearance is not within limits as  listed in Adjustment Specifications, remove choke pulldown motor adjusting 
screw cover and adjust as required.
