Lynx L4-98 1.6L SOHC VIN 2 2-bbl (1983)
A new design oil pump was incorporated on some 1.6L engines starting April 1, 1983. It is of a "gerotor gear" design that increases pump capacity and
reduces friction (Figure 12).
The oil pump, crankshaft, and oil pan are compatible with each other and are not interchangeable with the old design components. The original released
components will also be used in production until Job #1, 1984.
