Oil Pump Screen and Pickup Tube

Oil Pump Screen and Pickup Tube

Removal

NOTICE:  During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material (including any material created while
cleaning gasket surfaces) that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, may cause engine failure.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting.

2. Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to Engine Lubrication Components - Exploded View  See: Oil Pan/Service and

Repair/Engine Lubrication Components - Exploded View and Oil Pan  See: Oil Pan/Service and Repair/Oil Pan.

3. Remove the bolts the oil pump screen and pickup tube.

Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

Installation

1. Install a new O-ring seal on the oil pump screen and pickup tube.

Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.

2. Install the oil pump screen and pickup tube.

1. Position the oil pump screen and pickup tube.

2. Install the bolts and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
