Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting.
2. Remove the crankshaft pulley. For additional information, refer to Crankshaft Pulley See: Cylinder Block Assembly/Harmonic Balancer -
Crankshaft Pulley/Service and Repair/Crankshaft Pulley.
3. Using the Oil Seal Remover, remove and discard the crankshaft front seal.
Installation
1. NOTE: Clean all sealing surfaces with metal surface prep.
Apply clean engine oil to the seal lip and seal bore before installing the seal.
2. Using the Front Cover Oil Seal Installer and the Crankshaft Vibration Damper Installer, install a new crankshaft front seal.
