ISSUE
Some 2010 Escape and Mariner vehicles equipped with a 3.0L engine may exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminated with diagnostic
trouble code (DTC) P0128. The concern may be more pronounced in cold ambient temperatures when vehicle is first started after a cold soak, and driven
under light load/low speed conditions with climate control blower motor setting on high. No drivability issues will be present.
ACTION
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 67.04 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the
VCM 2010.5 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
