Cruise Control Servo: Service and Repair
1984---87 Capri, Continental, Cougar, LTD, Mark VII, Marquis, Mustang & Thunderbird With Resume & Actuator Cable
1.
Remove air cleaner wing nut and slide air cleaner toward front of vehicle.
2.
Disconnect speed control actuator cable from accelerator cable bracket.
3.
Disconnect servo electrical connector from inside engine compartment.
4.
Apply parking brake, then raise and support left front side of vehicle.
5.
Remove left front wheel, then the inner fender splash shield.
6.
Remove two vacuum hoses from servo.
7.
Remove two servo mounting bracket-to-pillar attaching screws.
8.
Remove two actuator cable cover-to-servo attaching nuts, then the cable and cover.
9.
Remove servo-to-mounting bracket attaching nuts and the servo.
10.
Reverse procedure to install.
