Loss of fuel economy and/or poor drive quality can be caused by a kinked carburetor power valve vacuum hose. Refer to Figure 17.
Inspect the power valve vacuum hose for evidence of kinking. If the vehicle is equipped with a straight rubber hose connecting the power valve to the
spacer nipple, remove and discard the straight hose and replace it with a new "formed" hose.

The "formed" hose will ensure that "kinking" does not re-occur.
