Road splash or antifreeze (a conductive solution) entering the back of the connectors that connect the 14401 wire harness to the 14290 and to the 14289
wire harnesses can cause a short circuit. The short can cause the Idle Speed Control motor shaft to extend and result in increased idle speeds. A six-pin
connector connects the 14401 to the 14289 wire harness and a 12-pin connector connects the 14401 to the 14290 wire harness.
Concerns of increased idle speeds can be serviced by cleaning both connectors and packing them with grease.
