Engine - Hesitation On Cold Start Above 70 Degrees

HESITATION DRIVEAWAY - 3.8L - COLD START ABOVE 70~ AMBIENT TEMPERATURE

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1984-85 MARQUIS, COUGAR

The above vehicles may experience driveaway hesitations during high ambient (+70~) cold starts and also during stabilized engine temperatures. This
condition is most prevalent during green engine operation (0-1500 odometer miles). If this condition persists beyond 1,600 miles, perform Quick Test to
verify other engine system function. If the hesitation persists, replace the processor as shown below.

Authorized Modifications Decal

Obtain an Authorized Modifications decal and list the date, dealer number and summary of alterations performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to
the Vehicle Emission Control Information decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover it
with a clear plastic decal shield.
