Removal and Installation 

1. Position the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position and turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

Remove the key.

2. Remove the driver air bag module. For additional information, refer to Air Bag Systems.

3. NOTE:  Mark the steering wheel and column shaft for reference during installation.

Remove the steering wheel nut.

To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.). 

4. Disconnect the steering wheel switches electrical connector.

5. CAUTION:  Do not remove the steering wheel by hitting the shaft with a hammer. Damage to the column can occur.

Using a suitable puller, remove the steering wheel.

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Align the steering wheel using the reference mark.
