This article supersedes TSB 09-24-11 to update the vehicle model years, Part List and Service Procedure.

ISSUE
Some 2008-2010 Fusion, Milan and MKZ vehicles equipped with a roof opening panel built on or before 4/30/2009 may exhibit a water leak at the roof
opening panel or water collecting at the overhead console. The concern may have been caused by a misaligned urethane application on the roof opening
panel assembly or roof panel seal out of alignment.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Close the roof opening panel glass.

2. Perform a water test and check for a water leak on front of the roof opening panel glass.

a. If no water leaks are found, do not continue with this procedure.

b. If water is leaking towards the front of the roof opening panel glass or near the overhead console:

(1) For 2008 and 2009 model year vehicles go to Step 3.

(2) For 2010 model year vehicles go to Step 5.

3. Replace the panel glass seal and realign the roof opening panel glass, refer to the WSM Section 501-17.

4. Retest for water leak and only proceed to Step 5 if the water leak is still present.

5. Replace the roof opening panel glass, refer to the WSM, Section 501-17.

NOTE

WHEN REMOVING AND INSTALLING THE ROOF OPENING PANEL GLASS, THE ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR INITIALIZATION
MUST BE PERFORMED, REFER TO THE WSM, SECTION 501-17.
