3. Remove the 6 pin-type retainers (4 shown) and the RH splash shield.

4. Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the hole in the crankshaft pulley is in the 3 o'clock position.

5. Remove the cylinder block plug.

6. NOTE:  When the crankshaft contacts the special tool, the No. 1 cylinder will be at top dead center (TDC).

Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the crankshaft contacts the special tool.
