1. Depower the system.
2. Remove the front door scuff plate trim panel.
3. Remove the rear door scuff plate trim panel.
4. Remove the lower B-pillar trim panel.

Slide the lower B-pillar trim panel down to disengage it from the upper B-pillar trim panel.

5. Disconnect the side impact sensor electrical connector.

6. WARNING:  The tightening torque of the air bag side impact sensor retaining bolt is critical for correct system operation.

NOTE:
-

Make sure the B-pillar and side impact sensor mating surfaces are clean and free of foreign material.

Note position of the sensor and locating tab for installation.

Remove the bolt and the side impact sensor.

To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
8. Repower the system.
