5. Remove the fluid cooler tube bracket from the transaxle. Remove the fluid cooler tubes.

To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
6. Remove the fluid fill plug.

To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

The fluid level should be at the upper most mark on the fluid level indicator.

Fill the transaxle with Motorcraft Continuously Variable Chain Type Transmission Fluid XT-7-QCFT meeting Ford specification
WSS-M2C933-A to the specified level. Fluid should be at the upper most level with fluid temperature at 43°C - 47°C (109°F - 117°F).

Prior to adding any transmission fluid, make sure that the vehicle is on a level surface.
^
Check the fluid level to determine how much fluid will need to be added.
^
Using a diagnostic tool, monitor the fluid temperature. Make sure that the fluid temperature is within specification.

8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

The fluid level should be within the crosshatched marks on the indicator.

Fill the transaxle with Motorcraft Continuously Variable Chain Type Transmission Fluid XT-7-QCFT meeting Ford specification
WSS-M2C933-A to the specified level. Fluid should be at the upper most level with fluid temperature at 88°C - 92°C (190°F - 198°F).

Prior to adding any transmission fluid, make sure that the vehicle is on a level surface.

Check the fluid level to determine how much fluid will need to be added.
^
Using a diagnostic tool, monitor the fluid temperature. Make sure that the fluid temperature is within specification.
