Mountaineer 4WD V6-4.0L VIN E (1999)
INSTALLATION
1. Install the front suspension upper arm.
1. Position the front suspension upper arm.
2. Install the two bolts and two nuts.
2. Install the pinch bolt and nut to the front wheel spindle.
1. Position the front wheel spindle.
2. Install the pinch bolt and nut.
3. Remove the jack from under the front suspension lower arm.
4. Clean the wheel hub mounting surface.
WARNING: ALWAYS REMOVE ANY CORROSION, DIRT OR FOREIGN MATERIAL PRESENT ON THE MOUNTING
SURFACES OF THE WHEEL OR THE SURFACE OF THE WHEEL HUB AND FRONT DISC ROTOR THAT CONTACTS THE
WHEEL. INSTALLING WHEELS WITHOUT PROPER METAL TO METAL CONTACT AT THE WHEEL MOUNTING
SURFACES CAN CAUSE THE LUG NUTS TO LOOSEN AND ALLOW THE WHEEL TO COME OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN
MOTION, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL.
5. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
1. Position the tire and wheel assembly.
2. Install the lug nuts and lower the vehicle.
3. Tighten the lug nuts in sequence.
4. Install the center cap.
NOTE: If equipped with air suspension, reactivate the system by turning on the air suspension switch.
6. Inspect the front end ride height.
7. Inspect the front end alignment.
