Removal and Installation

Battery

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery cables.

2. Remove the battery heat shield.

3. Remove the battery.

Remove the bolt and the battery hold-down clamp.

WARNING:  WHEN LIFTING A BATTERY, EXCESSIVE PRESSURE ON THE END WALLS COULD CAUSE ACID TO SPEW
THROUGH THE VENT CAPS, RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY. LIFT WITH A BATTERY CARRIER OR WITH YOUR
HANDS ON OPPOSITE CORNERS.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:  When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive
strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven to relearn the strategy.
