25. NOTE: If damage to the parking gear is found, the transmission must be removed and disassembled.
NOTE: The parking pawl, parking pawl return spring and parking pawl shaft may fall out during removal of the extension housing.
Remove the extension housing.
4x4 vehicles
26. NOTE: If damage to the parking gear is found, the transmission must be removed and disassembled.
NOTE: The parking pawl, parking pawl return spring and parking pawl shaft may fall out during removal of the extension housing.
Remove the extension housing.
27. Remove and discard the gasket. Inspect the parking pawl, parking pawl return spring, and the parking pawl shaft. Discard components if damaged
or worn.
