Blower Resistor Replacement
1.
Remove the right-hand upper foot well trim panel pushpins and remove the panel (if equipped).
2.
Remove the blower resistor and connector from the heater housing.

1995 and some 1996 Contour/Mystique: Insert a screwdriver approximately 5 mm (0.2 inch) under the edge of the resistor to disengage the
retainer clips from the housing. See Figure 4.

Some 1996, 1997 and 1998 Contour/Mystique: Remove the retaining screw. See Figure 5.
CAUTION
Cut and splice only one wire at a time. The wire colors on the new blower resistor connector do not match the existing wiring harness colors.
3.
Install the new blower resistor connector kit.

Obtain Blower Resistor Connector Repair kit # F5RZ-14A411-CA.
B.
Select the first wire to be spliced from the switch wiring harness and cut it as close as possible to the blower resistor connector.
C.
Select the corresponding wire from the new blower resistor connector.
