DOOR GLASS - WINDOW BELT LINE MOULDING LOOSE OR FALLS OFF - VEHICLES BUILT THROUGH 10/31/96

ISSUE:
The door glass belt line moulding comes loose or falls off on some vehicles. This may be caused by low retention of the belt line moulding to the door
panel metal flange.
ACTION:
Add a retention clip to the belt line moulding. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
FRONT DOORS
1.
Lower the front door glass to full down position.
NOTE:
LIFTING THE BELT LINE MOULDING EXCLUSIVELY AT ONE END WILL BEND THE MOULDING. A BENT MOULDING REQUIRES
REPLACEMENT.
2.
Starting at the B-pillar end, carefully remove the belt line moulding by gradually lifting it from the door metal channel. Lift gently at 50 mm
intervals to avoid bending the aluminum framework of the moulding (Figure 1).
