Water Pump: Service and Repair

Removal 

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Drain the cooling system. 
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Remove the water pump drive belt tensioner. 
5. Raise and support the vehicle. 

6. NOTE:  Remove and discard the water pump gasket.

Remove the water pump

Remove the eight bolts.

Remove the pump.

Installation 

1. NOTE:  Install a new water pump gasket.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

2. Refill the cooling system.
