If diagnosis and tear down reveals that the forward clutch snap ring has dislodged from its retaining groove of the Forward/Direct/Coast Clutch
cylinder assembly, then replace the Overdrive/Reverse ring gear assembly with new Gear Assembly (F3RZ-7A153-B for 2.5L or F3RZ-7A153-A
for 2.0L) (Figure 1).

As required, replace damaged clutch assembly components.
3.
Inspect the pump driveshaft for integrity and replace as necessary.
4.
Check for proper pump gear operation by inserting pump driveshaft into the pump assembly and rotating by hand.

If pump assembly is defective, replace it with new Pump Assembly (F7RZ-7A103-AA) and go to Step 5.

If pump gear operation is satisfactory, disassemble pump assembly to flush and clean contamination. Reassemble pump assembly with new
Gaskets (F7RZ-7G331-AA). Go to Step 5.
5.
Reassemble transaxle assembly.
