SWITCH-IGNITION KEY WARNING-REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

ISSUE:
A new procedure for servicing the ignition key warning switch has been developed. The new procedure is not published in the shop
manual.
ACTION:
Use the following service procedure to remove and install the ignition key warning switch.

REMOVAL
1.
Remove the ignition lock assembly from the steering column lock housing. Refer to the appropriate Car Shop Manual, Section 13-04 for service
details.
NOTE:
LEAVE THE LOCK IN THE RUN POSITION. DO NOT TURN THE IGNITION KEY.
2.
Remove the switch from the lock assembly using a screwdriver as shown in Figure 1.
3.
Throw away the switch.

INSTALLATION
1.
Obtain a new key warning switch (11A127).
2.
Place the switch halfway on the lock cylinder case. Note proper alignment as shown in Figure 2.
