This article is being republished in its entirety to correct the illustration.
ISSUE:
The steering gear assembly "on center" position for the input shaft was incorrectly shown in the 1986-88 Taurus/Sable Shop Manual.

ACTION:
If service is required, use Figure 13 of this TSB for the correct illustration. This change should be inserted in your 1986, 1987, and 1988
Taurus/Sable Shop Manuals, Section 13-46.
