ISSUE:
A "groaning noise may come from the front power windows after the glass is powered full up. This noise is caused by improper lubrication on the
window regulator mechanism sliding surfaces. The grease gets wiped off from sliding surfaces during normal operation.
ACTION:
Apply teflon lubricant (D2AZ-19590-A) to the window regulator mechanism sliding surfaces. This is a longer lasting lubricant with a lower friction
characteristic than the polyethelene grease specified in the Service Manuals. Refer to the following procedure for service details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the interior door trim as outlined in the appropriate Service Manual, Section 45-03 for 1986-91 and Section 01-05 for 1992-95 vehicles.
2.
Refer to the appropriate Service Manual, Section 42-01 for 1986-91 and Section 01-11 for 1992-96 vehicles for lubrication points on the window
regulator.
3.
Apply a generous amount of teflon lubricant (D2AZ-19590-A) to the window regulator mechanism, especially to the window regulator channels,
