Power Window Relay: Description and Operation
Accessory Delay Relay
The accessory delay is designed to supply power to the power window system after the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position for up to 45 seconds
. The accessory delay system operates in the following manner:

When the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) senses that the ignition switch has been turned OFF, GEM starts two timing functions:

accessory delay system.
-
battery saver system.
-
The GEM supplies a ground signal to relays for both systems.

Ground input to the battery saver relay supplies power to the accessory delay relay.

Ground input to the accessory delay relay supplies power to the accessory delay system.

The GEM will shut down the accessory delay system after 45 seconds and shut down the battery saver system after 40 minutes.

The accessory delay time out will be cancelled if either front door is opened or ignition switch is turned to RUN/ACC/START.
