LATCH - REAR SEAT BACK - SHOP MANUAL UPDATE

LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1986-89 SABLE

ISSUE:

The rear seat back latch removal and installation procedure as published in the 1986-88 Taurus/Sable Shop Manual, Section 41-20 is
incomplete. The existing service procedure does not tell the technician how to replace the rear seat back latch when the rear seat back is in the
down and locked position. The affected units are Taurus/Sable Station Wagons only.

ACTION:

If service is required, use the following procedure to service the rear seat back latch when the rear seat back is in the down and locked
position.

Using a long screwdriver, 8" long or more, insert it into the back of rear seat back until it contacts the actuator pin, Figure 1.
