ISSUE:
In a few cases, hoses such as power steering hoses have been found to be mislocated following certain service operations in the engine compartment.
Misrouted power steering hoses can develop leaks (e.g. power steering hose can rub against moving parts) and cause aggravating inconvenience to
customers and even cause a fire if a hose ruptures.
ACTION:
New parts kits are available to make it easier to replace power steering hoses and to restore proper hose routing. Detailed installation instructions are
included in each kit. When replacing power steering hoses, be sure to install the correct hose/heat shield kit. Refer to the Parts Block in this article for
correct parts usage and the individual Instruction Sheet (# 6491 through # 6497) for installation details.
