An FPS-700 Parts Disposition Tag will be issued to recall the removed catalysts. Return of removed catalysts with the FPS-700 tag attached must be
shipped prepaid freight via United Parcel Service (UPS) to the address on the reverse side of the tag.
Claim for prepaid freight charges on Form 1863 (Refer to Section 6.1, page 33, of the Warranty and Policy Manual).
ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THE HANDLING OF SPECIAL SITUATIONS REGARDING REMOVED CATALYSTS SHOULD BE
RESOLVED WITH YOUR SERVICE ZONE MANAGER.

Ford Motor Company is voluntarily recalling certain 1988 - model Taurus, Sable and Continental passenger cars equipped with 3.8L engines (Emissions
Recall 91E15). Your car's engine may be releasing air pollutants which exceed California standards.
What the Dealer Will Do
At no cost to you, your dealer will modify the emissions control system on your car and replace the exhaust system catalyst according to the instructions
provided by Ford.
This service should have little or no effect on your car except to reduce air pollutants.
If you do not have this service done, Your emissions warranty may be reduced, Your car may not pass emissions or smog tests that may be required in
your area, The State of California Department of Motor Vehicles may not renew your car's registration.
How long will it take?
The time needed to repair your car is about two hours. However, due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your car one full working day.
Call your dealer
Call your dealer without delay. Ask for a service date and if parts are in stock.
If your dealer does not have the parts in stock, they can be ordered before scheduling your service date. Parts would be expected to arrive within a week.
When you bring your car in, present this letter to the dealer.
If you misplace this letter, your dealer will still do the work, free of charge.
Changed Address or Sold the Car?
If you have, please fill out the enclosed prepaid postcard and mail it to us.
If the dealer does not make the repair promptly and without charge, you may contact the Ford Parts and Service Division Customer Assistance Center by
calling toll-free 1-800-392-3673, (1-800-392-FORD).
The State of California requires the completion of emissions recall repairs prior to vehicle registration renewal. Your car is subject to these requirements.
When this recall repair is completed by your dealer, you will receive a Vehicle Emission Recall - Proof of Correction certificate. This certificate says that
this emissions recall has been performed on your car.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET A CERTIFICATE FROM THE DEALER AND THAT YOU HAVE IT WHEN YOU RENEW YOUR
CAR'S REGISTRATION.
