Power Steering Pressure Switch: Service and Repair

Removal

1. Open hood.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Disconnect electrical connector at PSP switch.
4. Remove PSP switch from power steering pressure hose.

Installation

1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Replace O-ring on PSP switch. Tighten PSP switch to 7 - 14 Nm (62 - 123 inch lbs.).
3. Fill and bleed power steering system with Motorcraft MERCON Multi-Purpose (ATF) Transmission Fluid XT-2-QDX or equivalent meeting Ford

MERCON specification. Check system for leaks and proper operation.
