Each safety belt within any one vehicle may have a different date code. Be sure to inspect each affected retractor.

Inspection

INSPECTION

Using the "Safety Belt Inspection Chart", determine which retractors need to be inspected.

NOTE:

The driver's safety belt is not affected.

The third row safety belts in Taurus/Sable wagons are not affected.

On the retractors that need to be inspected, spool-out the safety belt webbing until the build label is visible. See Figure 1. IF THE SAFETY BELT
WEBBING WILL NOT SPOOL-OUT, THE SAFETY BELT RETRACTOR MUST BE REPLACED.
