Throttle Position Sensor: Description and Operation

The Throttle Position sensor (TP sensor) is:

-

a potentiometer that provides a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). This signal is directly proportional to the throttle plate position.

-

mounted to the throttle body and connected to the throttle plate shaft.
