Vehicles which exhibit No/Hard Start or Stalls (stalling immediately following restart) after a hot soak may have a fuel vapor-lock condition on the fuel
inlet line to the throttle body. The condition is caused by the path that the fuel travels from the fuel supply line through the filter assembly to the throttle
body. The fuel system parts involved conduct heat causing the fuel to vaporize. Reworking the fuel supply system using the following procedure should
correct the vaporization condition.
1.
Disconnect the electrical connector at the inertia switch located on the left side of the trunk.
2.
Release fuel system pressure by cranking the engine 15 seconds.
3.
Remove and discard fuel hoses between the throttle body/fuel filter and supply line/fuel filter.
4.
Remove the fuel filter from the bracket and save the filter.
5.
Remove and discard the filter bracket, save the attaching screws.
6.
Install the new fuel filter bracket with attaching screws.

7.
Install the fuel filter so that the flow arrow on the filter points downward. Tighten the clamp to 15-25 in.lbs. (See Figure 5.)
8.
Connect the new fuel filter outlet hose (formed end) to the bottom end of the fuel filter. Pass the hose through the clip at the shock tower and
connect the other end to the throttle body.
