ISSUE:

An ignition key that cannot be removed from the ignition lock cylinder or is hard to remove from the ignition lock cylinder when the
transmission gear selector is positioned in "P" (Park) may be caused by the transmission shift linkage. The shift linkage may cause the
gear selector pawl to bind on the front face of the park detent which will not allow the gear selector interlock to release.

ACTION:

To correct this, readjust the transmission shift linkage with the transmission in "D" (Drive) and the gear selector lever pulled back to
the rear of the drive detent during the adjustment. Refer to the 1988 Car Shop Manual, Volume E, Section 17-02-1, for detailed
service information.
