Clutch Release Bearing: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Remove transmission.
2. Loosen pressure plate cover attaching bolts evenly to avoid distorting cover. If same pressure plate and cover are to be installed, mark cover and
flywheel so pressure plate can be installed in original position.
Clutch assembly
3. Remove pressure plate and clutch disc from flywheel.
INSTALLATION
1. Position clutch disc and pressure plate onto flywheel with flatter side of clutch disc facing toward flywheel.
2. Ensure three dowel pins on flywheel are aligned with dowel pins on pressure plate.
3. Snug tighten cover attaching bolts, then align clutch disc using tool T81P-7550A or equivalent. Torque bolts to 12-24 ft lbs (17-32 Nm).
4. Remove alignment tool, then install transaxle and perform initial clutch adjustment.
