Throttle Body: Service and Repair

4-140 Turbocharged Engine

1.

Remove fuel charging assembly as previously described.

2.

On 1986 Mustang SVO models, remove air cooler assembly.

3.

On all models, remove four throttle body nuts or two bolts and two nuts, as equipped.

4.

Disconnect throttle position sensor and air bypass valve electrical connectors from wiring harness.

5.

Separate throttle body assembly from upper intake manifold.

6.

Remove and discard gasket from manifold.

7.

Reverse procedure to install. Torque retaining nuts and/or bolts to 12 - 15 ft. lbs.
