Coast Clutch
DISASSEMBLE
Exploded View Of Clutch Assembly
NOTE: Refer to the Exploded View Of Clutch Assembly image when disassembling the clutch assembly.
1. Compress spring and retainer assembly, using clutch spring compressor tool No. T65L-77515-A or equivalent.
2. Remove snap ring from spring and retainer assembly, then remove coasting clutch from reverse and forward drum by applying compressed air
through fluid passage.
3. Remove coasting clutch piston from coasting clutch drum using compressed air through fluid passage.
4. Compress piston return spring, then remove one end of snap ring from groove with suitable pliers.
5. Remove snap ring and place reverse and forward drum on oil pump.
6. Remove reverse piston by applying compressed air through fluid passage.
7. Inspect drive and driven plates for damage or wear. Minimum thickness is 0.055 inch.
8. Inspect clutch piston for damage or cracks.
