This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to change the model year application and to provide build dates.
ISSUE:
A "grinding" noise may come from the front of the vehicle while turning. It may be more noticeable at low speeds and in cold weather. The noise may be
caused by dirt accumulation in the top strut mount bushing which results in excessive friction.
ACTION:
Install a new bushing with a groove to help keep dirt from entering the sliding surface, Figure 1. Refer to the 1993 Escort/Tracer Service Manual,
Section 04-01, for service details.
