Front Door Exterior Handle: Service and Repair

Front

Removal

NOTE: Perform this procedure with the front door window glass (21410) in the full up position.

1. Remove the front door trim panel (23942). 

2. Peel back the plastic weathershield from the front door (20124).

3. Remove the front door glass latch side retainer screw. Remove the front door glass run latch side retainer (222A00).

4. Disconnect the front door letch actuating rod (22152) from the front outside door handle.

5. Remove the access hole covers from the front door and remove the two front outside door handle nuts and the front outside door handle from the

front door.

Installation

1. Position the front outside door handle on the front door and install the two front outside door handle nuts. Tighten the front outside door handle

nuts securely.

2. Install the access hole covers to the front door.

3. Install the front door glass run latch side retainer. Tighten the front door glass run latch side retainer screw.

4. Connect the front door latch actuating rod to the front outside door handle.

5. Attach the plastic weathershield to the front door.

6. Install the front door trim panel.
