Brake Master Cylinder: Adjustments
The brake booster to master cylinder push rod does not usually need adjusting unless the brake master cylinder has been changed. If the push rod is too
long, it will cause dragging brakes. If the push rod is too short, it will cause a low brake pedal.
Apply Vacuum To Power Brake Booster
1. Use Rotunda Vacuum Tester 014-R1058 or equivalent to apply a vacuum of -50cm-Hg (-20 in-Hg) to the power brake booster.
Measure Push Rod Length
2. Measure the push rod length. The push rod length should be 10.275-10.525mm (0.405-0.414 inch).
3. Adjust the push rod nut until the push rod length is within specification.
