Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Description and Operation
The hydraulic anti-lock actuator assembly consists of three solenoids which control hydraulic fluid flow to each wheel. This is a three-solenoid,
four-channel system.
The hydraulic anti-lock actuator assembly is located in the right front corner of the engine compartment. It modulates brake fluid pressure at each wheel
with three internal solenoids and a plunger. A hydraulic pump motor circulates the brake fluid during anti-lock brake system (ABS) cycling.
The hydraulic anti-lock actuator assembly includes the:
^
Hydraulic pump motor.
^
Hydraulic pump motor relay.
^
Hydraulic solenoid relay.
The hydraulic anti-lock actuator assembly is energized through the anti-lock brake control module by the hydraulic pump motor relay.
