Coolant: Testing and Inspection
Remove the radiator overflow container cap and draw a sample of coolant from the radiator coolant recovery reservoir with a hydrometer or Rotunda
Battery/Anti-Freeze Tester 014-R1060 or equivalent. Check for rust, dirt, or oil. Also check the freezing point. It should be approximately -37° C (-35°
F) if the mixture has not been diluted. If the mixture has been diluted, but has been replaced within the past year, then full protection may be restored by
partially draining the system and adding 100 percent coolant such as Premium Cooling System Fluid E2FZ-19549-AA, or equivalent meeting Ford
specification ESE-M97B44-A, to obtain the appropriate ratio of coolant to water.
