8. Remove the five coolant crossover tube-to-thermostat housing bolts and separate the coolant crossover tube from the thermostat housing. Discard
the gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant to the thermostat housing.
NOTE: Ensure that the coolant crossover tube and thermostat housing gasket surfaces are clean of any old gasket material.
2. Install the thermostat housing on the coolant crossover tube.
NOTE: Position the thermostat housing on the coolant crossover tube within five minutes of applying the silicone sealant.
3. Install the five coolant crossover tube-to-thermostat housing bolts. Tighten the coolant crossover tube-to-thermostat housing bolts.
4. Install the coolant crossover tube with the thermostat housing attached.
5. Install the two thermostat housing bolts. Tighten the thermostat housing bolts to 16-21 Nm (12-15 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the two coolant crossover tube bolts and tighten to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the water bypass hose onto the water hose connection.
8. Install the lower radiator hose onto the coolant crossover tube and tighten the lower radiator hose clamp. Tighten until only 6-8 mm (0.24-0.31 in)
of threads remain below the bolt head.
9. Install the heater water hose on the lower heater pipe.
10. Install the lower intake manifold.
