Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the generator drive belt, water pump and power steering drive belt, and the A/C compressor drive belt (if equipped). 
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Remove the five RH inner engine and transmission splash shield bolts and two screws, and remove the RH inner engine and transmission splash

shield.

5. Remove the four RH outer engine and transmission splash shield bolts and two screws and remove the RH outer engine and transmission splash

shield.

6. Use Strap Wrench D85L-6000-A or equivalent to hold the crankshaft pulley while removing the crankshaft pulley bolt.

7. Use Crankshaft Damper Remover T58P-6316-D and Forcing Screw and Up (part of T74P-6700-A) with Bolt Set Crankshaft Damper Removal

T92C-6701-AH to pull the crankshaft pulley off the front of the crankshaft.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the crankshaft pulley and crankshaft pulley bolt.

NOTE:  if the outer timing chain/belt guide is removed it will need to be installed with the dished side facing away from the cylinder block.
