Villager V6-181 3.0L SOHC VIN 1 EFI (1997)
1. Place Rotunda Offset Belt Tension Gauge 014-R 1066 or equivalent at a point midway between the water pump pulley and the power steering
pump pulley and measure the tension.
2. The tension for the water pump and power steering drive belt should measure 603-691 N (136-155 Lbs) for a new drive belt, 495-583 N (112-131
Lbs) for a used drive belt. The limit for drive belt tension is 196 N (45 Lbs).
NOTE: A drive belt is considered new if it has been used on a running engine for less than five minutes.
3. Adjust the water pump and power steering drive belt tension as follows:
a. Raise and Support the vehicle.
b. Remove the RH front fender splash shield.
c. Loosen the water pump and power steering pump drive belt idler pulley locknut.
