ISSUE
No or low A/C performance in very high ambient temperatures may occur on some vehicles. This may be due to the A/C high pressure cut-off switch
being set too low causing the A/C compressor to cycle off too soon.
ACTION
Replace the A/C high pressure cut-off switch and high pressure relief valve with revised parts. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Verify concern by connecting pressure gauges and comparing the high side cutout pressures to the pressures listed in the following Chart.
2.
If the new switch has already been installed, follow normal A/C system diagnostics as outlined in the appropriate Villager Service Manual.
Otherwise, proceed with the following Steps.
3.
Recover A/C refrigerant.
4.
Replace the A/C high pressure cut-off switch and the A/C high pressure relief valve following procedures outlined in the appropriate year Villager
Service Manual, Section 12-03A.
5.
Evacuate, recharge and leak check the A/C system.
6.
Verify repair.
