Transmission Position Switch/Sensor: Flow of Diagnosis
INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION
1. Visually inspect the components of the starting system.
Visual Inspection Chart
Mechanical
a. Damaged or misadjusted Transmission Range (TR) switch.
b. Damaged or misadjusted transmission shift cable.
c. Damaged Transmission Control Module (TCM).
Electrical
a. Blown fuse: 10A ELECTRON IGN.
b. Damage to wiring harness.
c. Loose or corroded connections.
2. Check the wiring harness for obvious signs of shorts, opens, bad connections, or damage.
3. If fault is not visually evident, proceed to the Symptom Chart.
