On both front doors, adjust the lock rod linkage bellcrank to the middle of the adjustment slot (Figure 2).

For vehicles without anti-theft, reverse Steps 1-4 to reassemble the doors and proceed to the Power Lock Signal and Wiring Check Procedure.
Vehicles with anti-theft require completion of the following Anti-Theft Vehicle Waterproofing Procedure before proceeding.
Anti-Theft Vehicle Waterproofing Procedure
Vehicles with anti-theft require waterproofing of both front door key lock cylinder switch housings and the driver's door key cylinder switch-to-harness
connector before proceeding with the Power Door Lock Signal and Wiring Check Procedure.
NOTE
USE CAUTION WHEN REMOVING THE METAL LOCK ROD BRACKET TO PREVENT THE BLACK SWITCH FROM FALLING OFF
THE CYLINDER WHILE APPLYING GREASE. IF IT FALLS OFF, IT IS IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE THE INDEX MARK ON THE
GRAY OCTAGONAL SWITCH RING IS ALIGNED WITH THE INDEX MARK ON THE BLACK SWITCH HOUSING WHICH IS LOCATED
IN LINE WITH THE BLACK GROUND WIRE.
NOTE
ONLY USE GREASE THAT IS "ELECTRICALLY NON-CONDUCTIVE" AND WILL NOT HARM PLASTIC PARTS, SUCH AS SILICONE
BRAKE CALIPER GREASE AND DIELECTRIC COMPOUND (D7AZ-19A331-A, MOTORCRAFT WA-10 OR EQUIVALENT MEETING
FORD SPECIFICATION ESE-M1C171-A).
