Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable: Description and Operation

PURPOSE

The air bag sliding contact transfers electrical signals from the steering column to the steering wheel for the driver side air bag module, the horn
system, and, if equipped, the speed control system and audio controls. The air bag sliding contact is mounted on the steering column, behind the
steering wheel.
